Internship Program

Organize Florida’s interns have played a significant role in the success of our campaigns and programs by contributing their time, talents, enthusiasm, and passion to the work that we do.  Organize Florida interns can expect to gain a greater knowledge and understanding of the issues impacting our local communities as well as develop skills in grassroots organizing. 

This coming summer semester (June - August) we will be offering two paid internships in our Organizing department at both our Tampa and Orlando offices.  The Reproductive Justice Interns and the Climate Justice Interns will work directly with our organizers to help them implement their committee’s grassroots strategies and events. Positions offer a $500 stipend for the semester, leadership development, and training as part of the internship experience.  Position descriptions and internship duties can be found below:

Reproductive Justice Internship

Position Description

The Reproductive Justice Program intern will work with staff in implementing the Reproductive Justice Committee’s (RJC) grassroots strategies and events. The intern will gain a greater knowledge and understanding of issues around reproductive justice and grassroots organizing.
Duties:

  • Conduct outreach, follow-up, and reminders to committee meetings.
  • Communicate with committee members, volunteers, and partners.
  • Assist with daily administration of the Reproductive Justice program, including answering phones, responding to emails, collaborating with interdepartmental partners, disseminating appropriate committee updates, and ongoing recognition of member efforts.
  • Work alongside the Reproductive Justice Organizer with all aspects of RJC programs as necessary with scheduling, set-up, implementation, breakdown, volunteer assignments, etc.
  • Manage database of volunteers.
  • Generate reports to the committee and organizer.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Climate Justice Internship

Position Description

The Climate Justice Program intern will work with staff in implementing the Climate Justice Committee’s (CJC) grassroots strategies and events. The intern will gain a greater knowledge and understanding of issues around climate justice and grassroots organizing.
